Tanzania Summer Trip 2015


Four high school students, one middle school student, and a Fulbright Scholar spent a week in Arusha, Tanzania to volunteer at schools supported by Project Darasani. 

2015 Annual Fundraiser


The 2015 fundraising dinner was attended by well over 120 people from all over Atlanta. Our goal was to raise funds to send 33 kids to school. Thanks to the generosity of Atlantans, we raised over $8,000 in one evening and we were able to enroll 65 students to school.


  • Professor Lisa Kasmer from Grand Valley State University, Michigan and Ms. DeShawn Jenkins from Georgia Tech were the guest speakers at this event
  • Student officers shared the 2014 results and goals for 2015  
  • Volunteers going for the 2015 Summer trip to Tanzania were introduced .

Recent Events



School Supply Drives


Project Darasani volunteers in Georgia and Michigan organized several school supply drives in 2014 and 2015 in various schools and neighborhoods. This resulted in collection of over 35,000 pens, pencils, erasers, sharpeners, markers, highlighters, rulers, etc.

  • July 2014 - Over 15,000 school supply items were distributed in schools in Arusha, Tanzania.
  • May 2015 - Over 20,000 school supply items were distributed in schools in Arusha, Tanzania.

2014 Annual Fundraiser


Project Darasani had a successful fundraiser in January 2014 that was attended by more than 100 people including middle and high school students from 4 counties in Georgia.


  • Professor Lisa Kasmer from Grand Valley State University in Michigan was the guest speaker at this event
  • Within a month of the fundraiser, sixteen students, ages 7 to 9, were enrolled in the local primary school in Arusha
